Katelyn received a reward for making Academic All-conference for having her GPA a 3.6 and being in a sport (Track). Track takes up a TON of her time everyday and she works really hard to make sure she is able to balance everything. We are so proud of her :)
While moving in we realized that our apartment has no air conditioning, because after about 3 weeks after school starts it gets FREEZING cold (almost like Wisconsin kt says but not quite) till when you leave for summer break. NO JOKE. It basically snows in the end of May out here. So anyways our apartment only has heat. SOO anyways it was super hot so...we went and bought a ton of fans. So we have one big one and 2 small ones. With all three of them going at the same time we cant hear anything so it is pretty funny. In the morning my alarm went off and Sarah couldn't hear it so i had TO call her to wake her up. Talk about lazy on my part, i know.
Katelyn's parents were in town helping us move in to our new apartment, and one morning were kind enough to bring us some bread, jam, and chocolate milk to share. We both poured ourselves a glass of chocolate milk and started sipping on it. For some reason it tasted funny, and both of us looked up at each other. Sarah thought it might be the cup so we just kept sipping away, but it didn't seem like the cup would taste funny. Finally we decided to check the expiration date...we had been drinking 2 week expired chocolate milk! It had been bought the that day, but the people at the store hadn't cleaned the fridge out of the expired milk. Luckily we didn't get sick or anything but now we are anal about checking to make sure our food is fresh. :D
We are officially back at USU and our year of adventures has already begun! We have spent the last few days moving in, and setting things up. Give us a few more days and we'll have pictures up of our new home, and of us and we'll post some pretty funny stories. We are having a blast being back together, and are looking forward to a year of fun adventures that we'll share with you! :)
Sarah got to be in a little 4th of July parade with her Primary class and had fun walking along next to them as they rode their bikes and Roller blades. They make her laugh, and she loves being with them.
Sarah just got back from a 2 week trip to Washington D.C. with her family. They had a ton of fun being together. They toured the Capital building, White House, and Library of Congress. They went to a lot of museums and did TONS of walking in the hot humid weather. After seeing everything, and learning more about U.S. History it made her really grateful and blessed to be able to live in this land of Freedom.Sarah discovered she is the same height as Martha Washington!
At the Marine museum, the backpack they have to carry around was really heavy and hard to lift
Our Sundays are rather exciting, full of love, laughter and learning about the wonderful gospel we are a part of. Sarah teaches the 9 and 10 year olds and Katelyn helps her mom with the 4 and 5 year olds. Its a blast to see the reaction on the kids face as they learn about things like the priesthood, prayer and recieveing blessings. You get a wonderful feeling when you hear their stories, they really know a lot and to see the love they have for our Savior Jesus Chrsit is just a wonderful way start to the day :)
